2026 Academic Advising Award Ceremony

Ms. Patti Schulz, Academic Advisor in the Center for Academic Advising, has been honored as the Primary Role Advisor of the Year

Ms. Ashleigh Huhn, an academic advisor in the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, has been honored as the New Advisor of the Year!

2026 Academic Advising Awards!

The Academic Advising Council announced their annual Academic Advisors of the year on March 11, 2026. Ms. Ashleigh Huhn, an academic advisor in the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts has been honored as the New Advisor of the Year. Ms. Patti Schulz, Academic Advisor in the Center for Academic Advising, has been honored as the Primary Role Advisor of the Year.

Each Advising Award supports the award winner in pursuing ongoing professional development by attending the NACADA Region 3 Conference. We are proud to further nominate Ms. Huhn and Ms. Schulz for the respective NACADA Regional Awards at the 2027 regional conference.

Congratulations to Ms. Chelsea Niemann and Mr. John Helbig!

The Academic Advising Council announced their annual Academic Advisors of the year on March 17, 2025. Ms. Chelsea Niemann, an academic advisor in the College of Health and Human Services was named the Outstanding Primary Role Advisor. Mr. John Helbig, an academic advisor in the Honors College was named the Outstanding New Academic Advisor.

Each Advising Award supports the award winner in pursuing ongoing professional development by attending the NACADA Region 3 Conference. Introducing the center for academic advising

University College is updating its name to the Center for Academic Advising. This change will take effect throughout the month of October, with websites reflecting the change beginning on October 23.

This change reflects our commitment to academic advising across campus and for exploratory and undecided undergraduate students whom we support.
