Visiting Students - Once you have uploaded the enrollment checklist items in your application, the responsible immigration officer will send an electronic acceptance packet with visa next steps. You should start your visa application immediately upon receiving the acceptance packet.
All international students on UNCW visa sponsorship MUST attend International Student Orientation. To remain in compliance with U.S. federal immigration requirements, students must attend.
Degree Seeking International Students must attend TWO orientations:
International student orientation -AND- general student orientation:
Visiting International Students (Exchange/Study Abroad) - Only need to attend International Student Orientation.
Campus housing is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. First-year students are required to live on campus, and the housing application is open from late February to early May.
Housing for exchange and short-term students is limited and available on a first-come, first serve basis. You will be contacted upon admission with next steps for the housing application, if you are interested.
Students need to finalize either on-campus or off-campus housing before you arrive. Students will be emailed housing application instructions and students must apply by the deadline to secure on-campus housing.

Immunization requirements must be met within 30 days from the first date of the class, or you will be withdrawn from your classes by the registrar without receiving course credit or monetary refund for classes
If you do not have all of the required immunizations by arrival, you may need to receive any missing required immunization shots at the UNCW Student Health Center. Depending on your health insurance, you may be charged money for these immunizations.

The One Card is the official form of identification on campus. Your One Card allows the use of campus facilities and provides safe, easy access to university services and events. Complete the One Card application online so that your card will be ready for you upon your arrival to campus.

The most efficient way for an international student (or any student using an international bank account) to pay student balances is through TransferMate(via E-bill) or Convera GlobalPay for Students.
These options allow you to pay the U.S. dollar student fees in the currency of your choice. It also provides you with a simple & secure way of initiating a payment electronically.
